EastEnders’ Whitney Dean emotional as she receives huge fostering news
EastEnders: Whitney Dean holds Chelsea Fox’s baby
EastEnders’ Whitney Dean (played by Shona McGarty) is set to get some huge news about her future.
Earlier this year, fans of the BBC soap watched harrowing scenes as she made the difficult decision to terminate her pregnancy.
After falling pregnant with Zack Hudson’s (James Farrar) baby, the duo discovered their unborn baby girl, who they called Peach, had Edwards’ Syndrome.
Following the termination, Whitney suffered with grief and went through physical and emotional turmoil.
Not wanting to put her body through pregnancy again, the pair decided they’d go down the route of fostering as they wanted to still have a family.

After moving out of her best friend’s Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) home, Whitney and Zack got their own flat as their fostering journey began.
Official spoilers for the soap reveal that next week, the pair meet with a social worker called Jan for a fostering assessment.
However, the appointment brings up some past trauma for Whitney as she has to go over difficult aspects of her past, including the abuse she endured from Tony King (Chris Coghill).
When Jan leaves, she’s left worried that revealing what happened to her all those years ago will impact their chances of fostering.

On tenterhooks, Whitney and Zack wait for Jan to arrive later on in the week to give them an update.
However, she’s delighted to tell them they’ve both been approved for the next stage as she believes they have much to give children in the fostering system.
Thrilled by the news, Whitney and Zack prepare for the next step in their journey to becoming parents.
Although with actress Shona McGarty leaving the BBC soap after 15 years, maybe their fostering story takes a tragic turn.
Speaking to The Sun about her reasons for leaving, she said: “I have decided to spread my wings and will be leaving EastEnders. I have loved my years in the show.
“I have been trusted with some incredible storylines and have made amazing friendships and family which will endure.”
Will this mean a double exit with James Farrar’s character Zack following Whitney out of the Square?
EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday on BBC from 7.30pm.
