Emmerdale tragedy for beloved family as villager ends up in prison
Emmerdale: Caleb and Cain talk in the pub
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk and other press, Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw teased tragedy in the Dales for one beloved family.
While not giving away too much, Laura said one villager will end up being sent to prison in upcoming scenes, but who will it be?
She also confirmed there would be a big storyline for the iconic Dingle family.
“We’re going to be doing something a little bit special with the Dingles coming up,” Laura explained.
“I think pretty much all of the Dingles are going to be involved and the episodes were filmed in a slightly different way from our usual style.

“After seeing the final episodes last week, I think it’s going to be very memorable.”
Turning her attention to an explosive New Year in the village, Laura continued: “We have got tragedy striking one family in the New Year.
“We have one or two of our villagers getting into very serious trouble.”

“At least one of which may end up in prison, but we will see,” she added.
In recent scenes in the ITV soap, Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) and his brother Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) have been keeping a dark secret of their own.
Fans have been kept guessing as the pair have been holding a mystery person hostage – but who could it be?
During Friday’s episode, Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) finally found out what her husband had been keeping from her.
After following Cain to Wylie’s Farm, Moira pushed her way into the room where Cain and Caleb had been holding someone hostage.
And it was clear from her reaction that she knew who it was.
Fans have been coming up with their own theories about who the mystery person could be, with many claiming it could be Adam Barton (Adam Thomas).
However, it is only a matter of time before the familiar face is finally revealed.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
