Escape to the Chateaus Angel details blubbering when recalling show finale

Escape to the Chateau’s Angel on ‘blubbering’ during finale

Escape to the Chateau stars Angel Adoree and Dick Strawbridge joined Lorraine stand-in Christine Lampard to discuss their latest book, taking a look at the last three years of the Chateau.

She introduced them and explained: “I’m joined exclusively by Escape to the Chateau’s Dick and Angel ahead of their new book The Chateau – Forever Home.

“It is a beautiful book, and you were only ever going to write one book but here we are talking about your third book.

This focuses on the last three years at the Cheateu, which involved Covid, which would have taken a turn in your lives. You found it emotional, didn’t you Angel?”

The star admitted: “The process that you have to get in, first of all, you have to remember everything and it takes a bit of effort and you throw yourself in there.

“Feeling things, smelling things and then Dick would write something that would trigger something I hadn’t remembered.”

Dick added: “We don’t speak all the time even though we are together and we write about the same story, you see two different sides.

“We are writing on the same page of a shared document and there are some emotional things that happen things have changed a lot, and if you think about it we only find out the details.

“I think we discovered that from the very first book when we done our wedding, we didn’t know what the other person did on the day of our wedding.”

“I did expect to get a little bit tearful when I was writing about my nan’s passing, you know? But it was the Christmas party.

“The big finale, the finale of Escape. I absolutely blubbered and I couldn’t get to the end of it and I must have done retake after retake.”

Dick joked: “Apologies if you get the audiobook – it is going to be a bit emotional…”
