Good Morning Britain reporter’s broadcast interrupted by anti-Brexit protesters
GMB: Anti-Brexit campaigner gatecrashes broadcast with signs
Good Morning Britain saw one of its live segments interrupted by anti-Brexit protesters on Wednesday’s show.
As ITV political correspondent Louisa James reported live from Westminster, a quiet demonstration kicked off in the background by an anti-conservative and anti-Brexit protester.
Louisa stood at the London landmark as she explained: “Last month, there was a drop in the energy price cap.
“And don’t forget as well that just because inflation is falling it doesn’t mean prices are falling it just means they are going up less quickly so nobody is going to feel immediately better off.”
A member of the public appeared in the background holding up a sign reading: “Stop the Tories,” before rotating it to reveal: “Brexit got the UK done”.

Louisa was undeterred as she continued with her news report.
She stated: “But of course, Rishi Sunak will want to take the credit for this because despite all of the issues floating around at the moment it does look as though the economy and the cost of living will be what the election is fought on.
“And he’ll be trying to take attention away from that letter from Suella Braverman which at the moment is all Westminster is fixated on.
“I’ve not seen anything like it in the time I’ve been here, people who have been at Westminster a lot longer haven’t either,” Louisa continued, talking about Suella’s letter.
She continued: “It is full of vitriol, attacks on the Prime Minister.”

The protestor then quietly held up a new sign, also with an anti-Brexit message, in his other hand which read: “Stop the Brexit con”.
The interruption didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, with @Clive_Kar taing to X to ask: “Why broadcast where nutters can stand behind you with signs? #GMB.”
@BadSanta6996 added; “In the background still not over Brexit. #gmb.”
The gatecrashing of live broadcasts isn’t uncommon, and just last month BBC Breakfast was forced to issue an apology to viewers after one particularly rude passer-by gatecrashed a report.
In early October, Sally Nugent was forced to “move along” a BBC Breakfast interview after a stranger interrupted a live broadcast to yell “Slash the TV licence fee you greedy-” before being cut off.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
