Holly Willoughbys friend Dr Ranj issues update on star after she quit This Morning
Holly Willoughby could soon be making a TV comeback, says her friend and former This Morning co-star Dr Ranj Singh.
Dr Ranj, 44, who was the show's resident medical expert from 2016 to 2021, has said that he believes Holly, 42, will soon make a return to TV as "she's too good not to."
Speaking to Closer, he said: "Of course she will come back to TV, she's too good not to. I don't know where or what show, but she's so good at it, it would be a shame for her to back away completely."
Despite previously criticising the show as 'toxic', he admitted that he still wanted to check up on Holly.
He said: "I messaged Holly just to check she was OK. Everything that's happened with her has been really tough. We all reached out and just want to make sure she's alright."
"She replied and she's good. Obviously it's a really difficult place for her to be in and she made a really difficult decision, but the kind thing to do is to reach out and just check in."
Last month Holly decided to leave her role on This Morning after more than ten years.
In a heartfelt message, the mum-of-three shared: "I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.
To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a tough goodbye, you are all amazing and I'll always be proud of what we've achieved together.
"I won't be coming back to This Morning. Thanks to everyone at ITV for being so supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you."
She continued: "Most importantly, a massive thank you to our wonderful viewers. You've been so loyal, so supportive and the best company every day. Richard and Judy said 'we only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers'."
"It's been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much. Holly."
