‘I’d never do Strictly – but I’d be up for rival show’ says Big Brother icon
Big Brother icon Nicola McLean has done a whole host of shows but says strictly -come-dancing>Strictly Come Dancing is not on the hit list.
The I'm A Celebrity star revealed she would not be up for joining next year's lineup as she branded the show "boring". Nicola explained: "No, I've never wanted to do it and it's not one that I've ever wished for like Dancing On Ice.
"I'm not a great dancer and I don't feel like it has that same excitement as Dancing On Ice. That feels a bit more my sort of genre whereas Strictly aims for a too older audience I think."
The Page 3 star also said she loved Zara McDermott and Bobby Brazier on the lineup and pointed out that the show likes to stick with BBC talent. The I'm A Celeb star went on to say that even though they went for some younger, fresher talent this year, they still had ties to the show, for example, Zara has produced documentaries for the BBC, and Bobby stars on EastEnders.
Nicola said: "I think Strictly is bland and doesn't have the sort of celebrity that I like to watch. But they at least mixed it up with Zara McDermott, who I liked to watch, but that didn't seem to work well as she got kicked out very quickly.
"I only started watching it because I follow her on Instagram and I really like her. I also really like Bobby Brazier, I think he's a really sweet boy and I hope he goes on to win now."
"I think it would be fun to get some glamour on there, it would get them more headlines with glamour models on there it would be great to see Katie Price on there – that would be brilliant. I liked it when Alesha Dixon was on the judging panel though."
Nicola also shared that she has auditioned for Dancing On Ice before – but said she didn't make it to the final stages. She was even invited down to the ITV ice rink to practise with show pros, but was later not successful.
The star also added that it would be the next show on her hit list after a sparkling career in reality TV. She is also currently eyeing up returning to the ITV jungle as would love to compete on the next series of I'm A Celebrity: All Stars.
Big Brother airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm followed by Big Brother Late & Live at 10pm
