‘I’m constantly mistaken for Jack Grealish,’ says Married at First Sight new groom Jordan
Married At First Sight UK groom Jordan Gayle has revealed he is “constantly” mistaken for England footballer Jack Grealish as he tied the knot with his bride Erica.
The Sheffield-based personal trainer resembles the footballer due to his floppy undercut hairstyle. Although he revealed he often gets asked for pictures, he doesn't use it to his “advantage” as he is “happy being myself”.
Jordan told The Sun: “I get that a lot, that I look like Jack Grealish. Especially if it’s a social setting where people have had drinks. I’ll get it maybe 30 times a night.”
The groom continued: “People ask for photos or videos and they’ll tag him online. He’s probably getting fed up seeing me in his socials. Maybe he’ll be like, ‘Who does this guy think he is?’
"Jack, I’m not saying I am you, I’m not trying to be you, but people say it all the time. It’s a compliment.
“I don’t use it for my advantage because, as amazing as he is, I’m happy being myself. I still like myself enough to not want to be him.”
In 2021, Jack's iconic curtains hairstyle was officially been voted the sexiest hairstyle on dating app Tinder.
The revelation came as aesthetics experts at Vera Clinic looked into the most successful hairstyles on dating apps, including Hinge and Tinder.
The research found that males with Jack Grealish-style curtains got the most matches on Tinder.
Jordan is one of the late-comers on this year's series, being matched up with Scottish dance teacher Erica, 25, by the MAFS UK experts.
He is also one of the youngest of the series at just 26 years old but said he is sick of his dating life swinging from “one extreme to the other”. Jordan has three long-term relationships under his belt but he’s now ready for The One.
His new bride, Edinburgh-based Erica told New that she “should have been born” in a different generation as she is an “old soul”.
She went on to say that it is “so hard” to find a “genuine” person who wants the same as she does.
After being scarred by past relationships and taking time to work on herself, Erica is hoping the MAFS UK experts will revive her currently “non-existent” love life.
Married At First Sight UK airs Monday-Thursday at 9pm on E4
