BIG Brother just wouldn't be Big Brother without Marcus Bentley.

Voiceover Marcus, 56, has narrated every of Big Brother since 2000, even following the show to Channel 5 after it was axed from Channel 4, and also to its new home on ITV.

He also narrated every series of Big Brother's celebrity edition.

Many fans believed that Bentley had been axed from the reboot on ITV after there was a different voice in the Diary Room but, thankfully, they were proved wrong.

Now we take a look at Marcus' life off-screen.

The pair share three children, yet his spouse and their brood often stay out of the spotlight.

Proving their romance is still strong, Marcus gave a rare insight into their relationship on his X, formerly known as Twitter, page.

In an emotional post, he wrote: "Me and my Mrs. @joolsbentle celebrate our Silver Wedding this week.

"We’re having a wonderful time, great theatre and food and so much love! Nothing has changed."

Jools is an award-winning illustrator for children's books, including one entitled The HippoPandaMouse.

She is an alumni of the Cambridge School of Art and often features her work, as well as the family's adorable pug dogs Luigi and Bella, on her Instagram page.

HERITAGE

Marcus has a strong Geordie accent, but many have wondered exactly where he is from.

He was brought up in Stockton-On-Tees in County Durham, after being born in Middlesborough.

However, Marcus now lives in Canterbury in Kent.

Away from TV, Marcus and his family enjoy seeing a variety of stage shows.

Recently, Marcus told fans he was in the crowd for the official Take That musical, Greatest Days, at Bristol's Hippodrome Theatre.

He also enjoyed Circus Extreme at Clifton Downs after watching Bodyguard The Musical this summer.

OTHER WORK

Marcus has a degree in acting from East 15 school and pursued acting roles before getting the Big Brother job.

As such, he has put his drama skills to good use in adaptations of Catherine Cookson novels, set in Newcastle and County Durham.

London's Burning was another TV show on his CV, while Marcus has also seen success on the stage.

He's starred in adverts and had a few minor film roles including a role in flick Mad Dogs and Englishmen.

Marcus also hosted Sky One quiz show Dirty Money but more recently has worked on Sky Kids pre-school TV show Mittens and Pants.

In a recent message on X, formerly known as Twitter, he gushed: "Absolutely thrilled to be recording another 40 episodes for series two of @skytv kid’s adorable preschool show Mittens and Pants – catch season 1 on Sky kids and Now tv."
