Emmerdale: Jacob finds out about Eric’s illness
Emmerdale icon Eric Pollard (played by Chris Chittell) decided to break up with Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) in emotional scenes that aired on Tuesday night.
As Eric struggled to come to terms with his Parkinson’s diagnosis, he brutally told Brenda he never loved her.
However, as the scenes played out, Jacob discovered a confidential letter at the doctor’s surgery which confirmed his grandad’s diagnosis.
“The truth is you have compared yourself unfavorably with Valerie and even Faith,” Eric mocked.
“And you always told me I was wrong too,” Brenda replied before Eric added: “I was lying.

“You don’t hold a candle to either of them, it’s not that there is anything wrong between us, it’s that there has never been anything right.”
“So you don’t love me anymore,” Brenda sobbed as Eric hit back: “Actually, I am not sure I ever did.”
Following the episode, fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on Eric’s storyline.
And while many think Jacob will betray his grandfather, others think it could backfire on the budding doctor.
