Jennifer Aniston cries over thought of ‘losing’ Matthew Perry in resurfaced interview

Actress Jennifer Aniston broke down to tears over the thought of “losing” Friend’s co-star Matthew Perry in a resurfaced interview from almost two decades ago.

Matthew, who is best known for playing the iconic character Chandler Bing in the 90’s sitcom, was found dead at his home in LA on Saturday after he reportedly drowned in his jacuzzi.

At the time, it was stated that there were no illegal drugs on the scene and police did not suspect any foul play.

In 2004, Jennifer revealed that Matthew was on a “rough road” as she discussed his struggles with drinking and drug use.

In the interview with Diane Sawyer, Jennifer got emotional as she said: “We didn't know. We, you know, we weren't equipped, we weren't – to deal with it. You know, nobody had ever dealt with that and, you know, the idea of even losing him.”

The now 54 year old was seen dabbing her eyes with a handkerchief as she continued: “He's having a rough road, but he is alright”.

Matthew previously revealed that co-star Jennifer, who played Rachel Green in Friends, first confronted him about his addiction while they were filming together.

Jennifer reportedly said: “We know you're drinking”.

Last year, Matthew revealed in his memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, that he had a crush on Jennifer which started before they started filming for Friends.

He said he continued to be attracted to her throughout filming but slowly got over her due to her “deafening lack of interest”.

In a joint statement shared with People, they said: "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family."

They added: "In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty's family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."
