Jim Davidson argues This Morning needs to go in GB News rant

GB News: Jim Davidson says This Morning 'needs to go'

Comedian Jim Davidson argued it was time for This Morning and similar daytime shows “to go”.

Appearing on GB News on Wednesday, Jim told host Dan Wooton that people have “had enough” of such programmes.

Talking about how The Repair Shop beat This Morning to achieve the Best Daytime awards at the National Television Awards, Dan asked: “Is this the end of an era for woke ITV’s golden goose?”

“Well I think it’s probably the start of the end of wokeness for all of us, it needs to go, this is ridiculous,” Jim replied.

Dan responded by crossing his fingers as Jim continued: “Do you know, I like The Repair Shop, that little bloke in the funny hat, I think he’s quite good.”

Jim, 69, continued: “And I do like Alison Hammond, I’m not a great fan of Holly Willoughby.

“I mean you know, anyone can come and read an autocue and there are so many people.

“I mean Dan, really, what do you want to watch during the day? Do you want to watch the news and get information?

“Or do you want to sit around and see what frock people are wearing and talking about the menopause and the denim jacket?

“You know, we’ve had enough of that I think, let’s move on.

“If you want daytime television, watch GB News.”

This Morning snubbed from its usual award following a tough year for the programme which saw Phillip Schofield making a sensational exit after the scandal involving him and another employee was revealed.

On Wednesday’s programme, she praised The Repair Shop’s Jay Blades for rushing over to give Holly a hug after he won the award.

She told viewers:  “Jay Blades – lots of love to him. He ran over to us, gave us all a big cuddle which I just thought was just class and gorgeous.

“I actually didn’t want to let go, he gives good hugs, Jay Blades.”

Co-host  Craig Doyle added: “Lovely man, lovely TV show, lovely atmosphere in that part of the room because it’s a get-together for all of us.

“We don’t all see each other for years so actually it’s like a big old Christmas party.”

Dan Wootton Tonight airs weekdays from 9pm on GB News.
