Layton Williams breaks silence on romance after awkward Nikita confusion

Layton Williams on Alan Carr’s ‘Life’s A Beach’ Podcast

Layton Williams has clarified his relationship stance and shut down any speculation that he was growing close to his Strictly Come Dancing partner, Nikita Kuzmin.

The West End star, 29, recently appeared on an episode of Alan Carr’s Life’s a Beach podcast, with the Chatty Man quizzing the Strictly star on his relationship with Nikita, 25.

Squashing claims that the pair were anything more than friends, Layton revealed: “So, basically, my partner is straight, so I know he doesn’t want me. It makes things so much easier.

“I’ve got a man, you know, it’s new though, it’s only been a soft launch on Instagram.”

Behind the scenes of Strictly, reports claimed that Layton was growing close to dancer and choreographer Johannes Radebe.

One source told The Mirror: “Layton and Johannes hit it off from the start. They have a similar sense of humour and seem to really get each other.

“Obviously Layton also gets on brilliantly with Nikita, but he and Johannes are real kindred spirits. Layton is seeing someone at the moment, so there’s no romance there.

“But it’s been great for him to have Johannes’s support behind the scenes. Together they are hilarious, a real whirlwind of fun.”

Over the weekend, Nikita went public with his new girlfriend on Instagram, just over a year after he split from his ex Nicole Wirt.

Sharing a collage of photos on his official page, the professional dancer uploaded a number of heartwarming pics with his new flame Lauren Jaine.

His new love interest is an Australian model and university graduate, and it has been reported that the pair have been dating for months.

In one sweet snap, Lauren and Nikita were seen in a mirror selfie, whilst they were both in another video in a supermarket filming each other.

Nikita was in a previous relationship with German dancer Nicole, but the pair split up last year after five years together.

While on Strictly, Nikita and Layton’s same-sex pairing has seen them go from strength to strength.

The duo made history during the fourth week as they performed a Cha Cha Cha and were awarded a perfect 10 from Motsi Mabuse.

They danced to Whitney Houston’s 2009 iconic tune Million Dollar Bill and went to the top of the leaderboard with a whopping score of 37 points.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6.30pm.
