Love Island All Stars confirmed with former Islanders flown to South Africa – as ITV reveal when new show will air | The Sun

LOVE Island: All Stars has finally been confirmed by ITV – and the channel has announced when it will air.

Some of the most iconic Islanders will jet to South Africa next year for another shot at finding love.

Mike Spencer, Creative Director, Lifted Entertainment said: “It has been rumoured now for a while but we are thrilled to finally confirm that we are making Love Island: All Stars early next year for ITV2 and ITVX.

"It's set to be a must watch series seeing some of your favourite Islanders from across the years heading back to the stunning South African villa to once again 'graft' as their search for love continues. I simply can't wait!”

Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning & Acquisitions and Controller, ITV2, ItvBe said: "After 10 ratings busting seasons of Love Island on ITV2, we're delighted to be able to celebrate a decade of the number one dating show on television with the first ever series of Love Island: All Stars.

"Set in our luxurious South African Villa, I know the audience will welcome back some of the most iconic UK Islanders, as they set out in pursuit of love all over again in a brand new version of our worldwide hit."

The news comes as Love Island prepares to find out if it'll be crowned Best Reality Competition award at tonight's National Television Awards.

For the All Stars series, legendary Islanders from show's past will couple up and battle it out to be crowned the ultimate villa couple.

Regular show host Maya Jama is expected to return to South Africa, where she launched her Love Island career, to present the series.

Last month we exclusively revealed how show bosses are considering throwing in some bombshell curve-balls — such as unknown ordinary folk — to spice things up and test if the cast are really looking for love or just fame.

A source said: “Love Island bosses want to make sure they’re out of the ratings slump when winter rolls around for All Stars.

“They are working out ways to give the show a real kick and to make the format have a lasting impact on viewers.

“At the moment it’s all just an open discussion and there are lots of ideas being put forward.

“Naturally, there is potential for old rivals to have it out on screen and to put old love triangles back into play.

“But some fresh faces could bring a twist. Will old hands stick with who they coupled up with before, for maximum impact, or risk everything for someone they actually fancy?

“It would really test out that argument that people now just use Love Island for fame.

“It’s all very exciting for the team who are working on it because nothing is off the table.”
