MAFS JJ reveals heartbreak after being cheated on by Victorias Secret model ex

JJ Slater made his Married At First Sight UK debut in Thursday's episode, where he opened up about his past relationships and his wild life out in Los Angeles.

The brand owner, 30, is one of the latecomers on the new series. He was matched with hair extension specialist Bianca, 29, with the pair's wedding airing on Thursday along with fellow intruder couple Jordan and Erica's nuptials.

Each of the new MAFS contestants introduced themselves and opened up about their lives, from their childhoods to dating history, as they explained why they'd chosen to put their faith in the experts to find them a husband or wife.

JJ, who hails from Essex, revealed he had been living out in Los Angeles for a while where he'd been enjoying the "party boy" lifestyle but has now decided he's ready to settle down. He went on to admit he'd had his heartbroken in the past, as he spoke about his ex-girlfriend.

"My ex if a Victoria's Secret model, amazing to look at. I loved going out with her. She was really really pretty," he said, as he revealed he'd always gone for looks over personality when dating.

JJ then explained why their romance ended, saying: "She cheated on me. It was horrible and it hurt me a lot. It was probably one of the worst thing I've been through."

Ahead of his MAFS debut, JJ spoke about his reasons for taking part in the reality TV show and admitted that marrying a stranger is no out of character for him.

“When this opportunity came around, it felt like something that was right for me. I’ve never really done normal things so this suited my personality,” he said. “If you ask my friends and family, they wouldn’t be surprised that I would do something like this. Without taking risks, there’s no reward.”

However, things got off to a rocky start for JJ and his new wife Bianca, as he said it "wasn't love at first sight" and that Bianca wasn't like the girls he usually goes for.

Meanwhile, Bianca described meeting JJ at the end of the aisle felt like a “breath of fresh air”.

“I think with JJ I got some things I asked for and some things I didn’t but at our wedding, I just accepted him completely for who he was there and then,” she said. “I didn’t care about tattoos or height and all that. This is what I got and I’m just happy with that.”
