MAFS star Jordan – Luke hates me and I have no respect for him – now Im fighting him properly
Married At First Sight UK brought the drama this year – but one of the biggest stories to come out of the E4 show was the feud between stars Jordan Gayle and Luke Worley, culminating in a physical fight and Luke being kicked off the series.
Jordan Gayle has now spoken out about his scrap with Luke and why he agreed to fight him again in an official boxing match next year.
The 26-year-old told OK! in an exclusive interview that although they regularly spar over social media, he hasn't contacted Luke since the show and organised their boxing match through a third party.
"I don’t speak to Luke [Worley] — the guy hates me and I have no respect for him.," he said.
"He blocked both me and [girlfriend] Erica on Instagram. I don’t meet up with the rest of the [MAFS cast] because if I go, Luke might not go and they might be like, “I wish Luke was here instead of you.”
Jordan added that he signed up to fight Luke in as he's still reeling from Luke's attempt to fight him on the show.
"The moment he knocked on my door and made me feel the way I did, by having a fight with me when I couldn’t protect myself or Erica because we were getting filmed for a TV show, I realised I wanted to do it properly," he said.
"I got an email with a really good offer to fight Luke and I love boxing."
Jordan and Luke announced in November that they'll be getting in the ring at The Indigo O2 in early 2024.
Speaking about the organised fight, Erica Roberts – who married Jordan on MAFS – admitted that she's "absolutely dreading" seeing her hubby in boxing gloves.
"I don’t know if I will be able to watch it," she said. "Nobody wants to see their partner in a boxing ring.
"I don’t doubt that he’s going to win but obviously it’s still not nice to see. I don’t want his perfect nose to be ruined!"
After meeting on the show, Jordan and Erica are still going strong, with the couple planning on moving to Manchester together.
Although Erica has admitted that she still makes "sly digs" at Jordan about his cheating scandal at the MAFS reunion, adding, "I like to remind him, 'Don’t you ever try anything like that again,' but the fact that I can joke about it now shows I’m over it."
