Man boob ops, 'botched' nose jobs and lip fillers that led to a TV disaster… male stars who’ve gone under the knife | The Sun

IN the past it was mainly Hollywood leading ladies spoke out about their nips and tucks – but now increasing numbers of famous fellas are opening up too.

They include Robbie Williams, who in exclusive interviews with The Sun, revealed plans to get “Turkey teeth” and a £20,000 neck lift as a “50th birthday present to myself”.

The 49-year-old admitted being an avid Botox user and in the past has spoken out about having fillers and a chin reduction, which he joked made him look like "Desperate Dan".

Robbie, who turned to cosmetic surgery to combat skin damage from his past partying, told us: “Most people in the entertainment industry have had it done but you wouldn’t know.”

He joins other male celebrities who have opened up about ops including Simon Cowell, who's had a facelift and joked he used so much Botox it left him looking like “something out of a horror movie”.

Now we look at the blokes who are speaking about their plastic and cosmetic surgeries – from ‘man-boob’ reductions to £20,000 veneers and injectables.

Joe Jonas – Unusual 'injectables'

11
Joe Jonas rose to fame as a teenager while he was part of the Jonas Brothers band

Nearly two decades have passed since Joe Jonas burst on to the music scene as part of the wildly popular boyband The Jonas Brothers.

And like many celebrities, the 34-year-old hasn't been afraid to turn to the world of cosmetics to preserve his youthful looks.

In 2020, Joe opened up about using a Botox alternative called Xeomin, which removes "unnecessary proteins under the skin".

He's used the injectables to help smooth out his wrinkles, frown lines and a scar between his eyebrows.

“We're all getting older and part of that is being comfortable [in our skin],” Joe told People magazine.

The singer said he wanted to reduce the “stigma” of blokes having cosmetic surgery and added: "I don't think it's necessarily something that we have to shy away from.

“We can be open and honest about it and be confident and not really shy away from speaking our truth."

Joe, who is soon to be divorced from Sophie Turner, said he liked the treatment because it wasn't "over the top".

Rylan Clark – £20k veneers

Staring at his freckled face and ginger hair, few would recognise photos of Rylan Clark from his younger years.

After rising to fame on The X Factor, the star had a few “bits and bobs done" in a bid to improve his self-confidence and help his career as a TV presenter.

Back in 2013, Rylan splashed £25,000 on veneers but months later chose to replace them because they made his jaw swell.

After getting “more subtle” false pearly whites, Rylan told the Daily Star: “These teeth were the best and worst decision of my life.”

The This Morning favourite, now 35, revealed he dabbled with lip filler for a few years until he got carried away and had an embarrassing blunder on live TV.

In his 2016 autobiography The Life Of Rylan, he wrote: "I laughed and laughed SO much my lip burst open and collagen filler started to dribble out.

“I'd had a bit too much filler put in the week before… The f***ing horror, live on TV and half my lip was spread across the floor."

In 2020, Rylan told The Guardian that people in the public eye “shouldn’t put their perma-youthful looks down to ‘moisturiser’ when they had, in fact, had a procedure”.

He argued there was nothing wrong with a person choosing to alter their appearance.

Rylan said: “If you are genuinely unhappy with something and you’re in a position to change it, then I don’t think people need to be vilified for that.”

Paddy McGuinness – Pinned ears

In a surprising revelation on Celebrity Juice last year, Top Gear funny-man Paddy McGuinness revealed he went under the knife during his younger years.

It followed a discussion about plastic surgery, where the comedian, 50, said he wouldn’t know what to have “as a man".

When host Keith Lemon jokingly suggested his ears, Paddy replied: “Oh I’ve had them done. I used to have massive sticking out ears and I always had a problem with it.

“The surgeon who did it, I thought, ‘There’s something not right with these,’ and about two years later, Panorama’s on, doing an exposé on rogue surgeons – he’s on it!’”

While Paddy appeared to be unhappy with his results, he said he didn't “begrudge anyone doing it”.

Miles Nazaire – Nipple op

When it comes to sharing details about his personal life, Miles Nazaire certainly isn't shy.

The star has documented his relationship ups and downs and everything else in between stints on Made In Chelsea and other reality shows.

So it was no surprise when the 27-year-old spilled the beans on having fat removed from behind his nipples and shared graphic pictures online.

The excess breast tissue was caused by gynecomastia – an imbalance of oestrogen and testosterone hormones.

After showing the removed fat in a video, Miles joked: “Steak anyone?”

He added: "It’s the first time in the last five years that I can honestly say I’m happy with my body and I’m proud of myself."

Charlie King – Nose job

Former TOWIE star Charlie King opened up about his botched nose job in a bid to urge the Government to increase funding for mental health support.

Last year, he told MPs on the Health and Social Care Committee that he had struggled with body dysmorphia since his teenage years, which influenced his decision to go under the knife.

Charlie says appearing on TOWIE and being a social media influencer increased the “pressure to look a certain way” – which he based on fan reactions to his posts.

He hoped to fix his nose, which had been broken since he was a teenager, but his 2021 op on London’s Harley Street “didn’t go to plan”.

Showing a post-op photo of his face, Charlie pointed to the “out of control” scar tissue in his nose and that his nostrils and the tip of his nose were “not right” or symmetrical.

He said: “I went to the depths of my despair, hence I've had to move back and live with mum right now, I couldn't earn money, I was depressed, I'm still not myself."

Craig Revel Horwood – 'Man boob' surgery

Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood said he felt “invincible” after undergoing surgery to remove his “moobs” – aka man boobs.

The 58-year-old, who had excess chest tissue from his teenage years, jokingly said he “used to be a C-cup and now I’m an A” after an op in 2014.

Like MIC star Miles, Craig believed it was caused by gynecomastia and had liposuction to remove the fat through a four-millimetre incision.

On the White Wine Question Time podcast, he spoke about being called “t**s” throughout his career and that his “blubby” chest prevented him from living life to the fullest.

He said: “I could never take my shirt off on the beach, and worried about getting undressed in front of a new partner.”

In 2016, Craig revealed he also had a nose job – which he dubbed “a hook job” because of its unusual appearance, on the Here She Is YouTube series.

The star also admitted he was tempted to rid himself of wrinkles with Botox – but decided against it after seeing how badly it went for another famous face.

Last year, he told the Daily Mail: “Ever since Simon Cowell had his eye drooping live on television from too much Botox, I decided I couldn't go through with it.”
