Piers Morgan calls on fans to back him at the NTAs as TalkTV star chases top gong | The Sun

PIERS Morgan has called on his fans to back him at the National Television Awards tomorrow night.

Piers Morgan Uncensored on TalkTV has been nominated in the newly-created TV Interview category for its global headline-making exclusives.

The nomination marks the first time that TalkTV has been shortlisted for the annual industry awards which are taking place on Tuesday at London’s O2 Arena.

Firebrand host Piers shared a link to vote on his Instagram and his X (formerly known as Twitter) accounts today.

The broadcaster quit ITV in March 2021 after a furious on-air row with weatherman Alex Beresford over his views towards Meghan Markle.

After taking an extended break from the limelight, sought after Piers signed for NewsCorp's channel.

However, it's been an incredible year for Piers and his agenda-setting show.

He's landed exclusive interviews with some of the biggest and most divisive names on the planet from Donald Trump to Rishi Sunak.

In November last year, Piers' sit-down chat with ex-Manchester United striker Cristiano made headlines around the world after the Portuguese superstar's brutal assessment of his then club.

The 38-year-old footballing legend accused the club of betraying and disrespecting him in the fascinating 90-minute special which ultimately ended his association with United.

He famously said of United's Dutch boss Erik ten Hag: “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me.

“If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”

There were more fireworks when Piers clashed with friend-turned-foe Trump in a blockbuster start to his new TV venture.

Piers held the star and his huge ego to account, eventually managing to wrestle an apology out of him during the two intense hours of back and forth.

And with the political and media landscape spicier than ever, there will no doubt be bigger and better to come in the year ahead.
