Power Book IV Force director teases ‘crazy’ twists in next episode
Power Book IV: Force official trailer for season 2
Power Book IV: Force is almost halfway through season two, but die-hard fans have been waiting almost a full year for episode five alone which is set to be released on September 29.
The hype around the episode started when Power star Joseph Sikora shared a teaser on Instagram in July 2022, revealing he was about to finish filming on the jam-packed instalment.
Fans of the Starz show have been theorizing what could be happening in the episode ever since and the frenzy reached new heights earlier this week when the episode trailer was only 16 seconds long, less than half the usual trailer runtimes for the Starz show.
Speaking to Daily Express US, the director Lisa Demaine shared a bit more of an insight on the “crazy episode” and warned that fans don’t have “any idea what’s coming at them”.
She shared: “As we’ve seen, Claudia and Vic are gunning for Walter. They’re teeing up to go after him but he is Walter Flynn, the formidable leader of the Flynn clan. So there’s an epic storyline coming with that family tree.”

While she didn’t hint at what could be unfolding for the Flynn family, Lisa revealed that family itself is a major thematic point in the episode.
The director continued: “There’s a really lovely familial moment. For as much craziness that goes on in this episode, there’s a lot of family in this episode as well which is really wonderful.”
This aspect isn’t just isolated to a specific family in the show, as she teased some new insights on the show’s iconic feuding brothers: “We learn a little more about Jenard and Diamond in this episode, as two brothers and a bit about where they’re from.”
The theme seems to continue for the show’s leading man Tommy Egan, played by Joseph Sikora, as Lisa added: “There’s also some really great storylines coming with Tommy; him trying to reconnect with his family; his mom, Kate, and JP and Darnell.

“Trying to put all that back together, can he have family and still be the kingpin of Chicago. So we play in that world a little bit as well.”
While this is Lisa’s first time directing an episode in the Power-verse, she is no stranger to the show having worked as a supervising director for parts of the series.
She admitted taking to the director’s chair was a bit “daunting” because of the huge, dedicated fanbase but that only pushed her to do as much research as possible, watching every episode of Power, Raising Kanan and Ghost to “understand this amazing world”.
Lisa jokingly recalled: “I have a teenage son and he goes; ‘What are you doing?’ I’m like; ‘I’m working,’ and he goes; ‘You’re not working, you’re watching TV!’ I’m like; ‘I know, that’s my work!’.”
Previously, Joseph teased season three of the show and previously sparked fan meltdown with an update.
