Romance hopes in Corrie as Evelyn and Roy move in together
Roy Cropper (David Neilson) faces what might be his biggest challenge yet in Coronation Street soon as Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) moves in with him.
Yes, we know.
A few months ago, it became apparent that Evelyn may want to be more than friends with Roy after reading a letter that detailed how much she means to him.
Roy penned the letter prior to his heart operation. He gave Evelyn a stack of them and said that if he didn’t make it, she would have to hand the envelopes to the people Roy cares about the most.
When Evelyn found the one with her name on it, she wasted no time and held it over a steaming kettle so she could carefully open it.
After Roy’s operation, Evelyn decided to head over to the hospital to reveal how she felt about her friend.
However, upon arriving, Evelyn found Yasmeen (Shelley King), sparking a challenging few weeks that tested Evelyn’s emotions and most of all, her jealousy.
It’s very clear that Roy and Evelyn are close. In recent weeks, Roy’s been on hand to help Evelyn with Cassie (Claire Sweeney), her daughter who is a recovering drug addict.
Showing support is at the forefront of Roy’s mind next week, as he welcomes Evelyn into the cafe flat.
As she gets settled in, Roy quickly realises that she isn’t the easiest of guests, but can they find common ground?
And if they do, where will things lead?
