Shock double Coronation Street exit as Stephen Reid plans life in Thailand | The Sun

STEPHEN Reid is keen to take his relationship with Jenny Connor to the next level – but also to escape justice before it's too late.

The Coronation Street serial killer comes up with a plan to whisk his beloved away to Thailand. Will they really leave Weatherfield?

With the Rovers shutting down, marking the end of a long era, could Jenny Connor (portrayed by Sally Ann Matthews) try to start afresh away from the cobbles?

Next week on ITV, her new beau Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) suggests a big move to Thailand and, although she admits she can see the appeal of living there on a permanent basis, she insists it's all a pipedream.

Instead, she suggests a holiday but Stephen knows just how to get to her.

The businessman who has clearly shown off his manipulation tactics can work a charm, shows Jenny a picture of a bar in Thailand and explains that a friend owns it and he's looking for a new manager.

Jenny realises how serious he is about relocating and Stephen leans on her to start a new life abroad.

Unfortunately for him, the pub landlady is a little more stubborn that he's grown accustomed to.

But while all odds appear to be working against him, Jenny eventually comes round and calls in the Kabin to tell Rita Tanner she's made her mind up – she's moving to Thailand.

Stephen is thrilled when Jenny tells him her decision has been made, with good reason.

The serial killer's downfall clearly begins next week as Carla Connor (Alison King) opens the letter from the clinic confirming there were traces of LSD in her hair sample.

She tells her husband Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) she thinks it was Rufus Donahue but having checked the dates of her illness it doesn’t add up as he was killed off prior to her mental breakdown and her stay in a mental health facility.

In the factory, Carla grimaces as she takes a sip of a coffee made by Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell).

When Michael apologises, and points out that normally Stephen or Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) make the coffee, Carla freezes as the truth dawns.

Carla drags Stephen into the office and tells him she knows he spiked her drinks with LSD and she’s going to prove it.

As Carla storms out Sarah’s unease is evident and the businesswoman hares her suspicions about Stephen with DS Swain.

But she’s frustrated when DS Swain asserts that it’s mere speculation and she needs proper evidence.

And there's another resident who is on to Stephen.

Having heard Stephen talking to Jenny about moving to Thailand Sarah reminds him he still owes Audrey the money from the house.

Stephen assures her it’s just a holiday.

As Stephen heads towards Rita’s flat he freezes when he hears ‘Sexy Boy’, the ringtone he heard by the canal.

He turns to see Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) answering his phone and realises with horror that the cabbie must have followed him on the night he was checking on Teddy Thompkins' corpse.
