Strictly Come Dancing fans delighted as show legend makes shock return
Strictly Come Dancing fans were left delighted during Saturday night's episode as a show legend made a shock return.
Ed Balls burst back into the studio performing some of his iconic moves from his time on the programme back in 2016.
The former Labour MP was on hand to help host Claudia Winkleman with the terms and conditions of the public vote.
56 year old Ed appeared from behind a gold curtain to make his announcement, but it wasn't long before he burst out into some dance moves alongside his old dance partner, Katya Jones.
Ed is known for his Gangnam Style dance routine, and he seemed to take great pleasure in performing some of those iconic moves once again.
In 2016, Ed seemed to be popular with some of the viewers at home, but he was eventually voted out in ninth place.
The viewers at home were delighted by his return and his dance moves on Saturday, 30 September, and they soon shared their delight on social media.
One person tweeted to say: "ED BALLS IS BACK #strictly," while another added: "Ed doing Gangnam Style ofc."
Someone else penned: "Has Ed Balls got a book to flog? But I am living for Katya still remembering the steps in the background."
This viewer commented: "Katya doing Gangnam Style behind Ed Balls reading the terms and conditions ensuring she’s on camera the whole time [laughing emojis] screaming she is so iconic I love her so much."
"I LOVED Ed and Katya’s partnership back in 2016," said one fan.
Finally, another added: "Katya and Ed Balls reunion!"
Ed's appearance was a small part of an exciting night as the celebrities took to the dancefloor for the second time.
All of the stars seemed to make a significant improvement from their week one dance, but it was actor Layton Williams who stole the show with his Quickstep to the song Puttin’ on the Ritz by Gregory Porter.
Layton and his partner Nikita Kuzmin received huge praise from the judges, before getting an amazing score of 36 out of 40 in week two.
The couples have had their week one score combined with this week to create the leaderboard before the first public vote of the series will see one couple leave.
It is no surprise that Layton and Nikita top the combined leaderboard with a score of 61 out of 80.
On the other end of the scale, it is Les Dennis and his professional partner Nancy Xu as they managed a score of 31 for their two dances.
