Strictly viewers all say same thing as they ‘spot BBC bosses plan for Kai

Strictly Come Dancing fans have shared their concerns for fan-favourite Kai Widdrington after he was paired with his celebrity partner over the weekend.

On Saturday night (September 15), viewers tuned in to the BBC One ballroom show up and down the country to watch the star-studded line up of celebs partner up with their pro dancers.

During the two hour-long show, the ballroom dancer – who is currently dating fellow Strictly pro Nadiya Bychkova – was partnered up with TV legend Angela Rippon.

The dynamic duo were all smiles as they shared the news with 28-year-old admitting he was “absolutely delighted” to have been paired up with the beloved presenter, who is the oldest contestant to ever perform on the show at 78.

Speaking on the show, he gushed: “Look at those legs, they are absolutely fantastic.” adding that they’d been “getting on like a house on fire.”

But some viewers were less than impressed with the partnership, with many claiming that the Southampton native had been “done dirty”, with many branding him the “new Anton”.

Fans will remember the dancer was partnered up with Loose Women presenter Kaye Adams last year who was unfortunately booted from the show after just three weeks.

Now, fans think he has been dealt the short straw again and it didn’t take long before fans took to the social media platform X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their disappointment online.

One user penned: “Is Kai the new Anton?” as another echoed: “Kai truly is the new Anton.”

A third echoed: “Kai is becoming the new Anton when it comes to partners being selected” as a fourth chimed in with: “#Strictly have ruined Kai” and a fifth added: “They’ve don Kai dirty again.”

But not everyone was against the TV pairing, with many sharing their excitement ahead of their upcoming dances together on the iconic dancefloor.

One user penned: “People think Kai’s been done dirty again but Angela is a great dancer she may be old but she knows how to dance & Kai is a Strictly finalist.”

Another agreed: “I think Angela and Kai will work, they might surprise us. I think they will make it pretty far” as a third echoed: “Kai and Angela – what a great pairing!”
