Strictly’s Bobby Brazier dealt crushing blow weeks ahead of 2023 launch
Bobby Brazier ‘over the moon’ with Strictly progress
Ever since the celebrity line-up for Strictly Come Dancing was announced, the bookmakers have been coming up with their predictions about who could win the 2023 series.
Up until now, EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier has been the bookies’ clear frontrunner to lift the Glitterball Trophy, however, the soap star has been dealt a blow just weeks ahead of the show’s launch.
Angela Scanlon could now end up beating Bobby, according to Ladbrokes.
After the hit BBC show scooped yet another Best Talent Show gong at Tuesday night’s National Television Awards, the bookies have revealed it’s currently a two-horse race for the Glitterball Trophy.
Angela and Bobby head the betting at 7/2 apiece, with Layton Williams (5/1) and Nigel Harman (6/1), while every other name is currently 10/1 or bigger.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Strictly is unquestionably the most popular talent show on TV right now, and with 15 stars soon set to battle it out for this year’s Glitterball Trophy, the odds suggest it’ll be a two-horse race between Angela Scanlon and Bobby Brazier.”
Bobby and Strictly both scooped a trophy at last night’s NTAs, with the soap star giving an emotional acceptance speech.
The 20-year-old took to the stage where he paid a tribute to his dad, he stated: “I’ve been thinking about what I might say over the last couple of days, and it’s just it’s become very, very, very obvious.
“This actually has very, very, very little to do with me, and everything to do with my dad.

“For over the course of the last 20 years, I’ve consistently heard him say, ‘Because I can’.
“It was a mantra or motto of his, ‘Because I can, because I can’, why not?”
He continued: “Everyone at EastEnders from day one, you know, I had no experience, I still don’t have a clue what I’m doing, to be honest.
“They’ve all been so supportive and just lovely and merciful and everything that I needed throughout the whole time and even still, you know, there’s so good that I don’t even need to ask any questions, I just observed and naturally I progress and here I am.”
