Strictlys Bobby Brazier to make people cry with Jade Goody tribute

NTAs: Bobby Brazier makes Dad cry with acceptance speech

Strictly Come Dancing’s Bobby Brazier has given an insight into what his plans are for competing in the BBC dance show, with a tribute to his late mother Jade Goody on the cards.

Speaking at the National Television Awards (NTAs) on Tuesday, Bobby revealed what songs he would like to dance to.

He said: “There’s a few – it depends on the mood. Saturday Love and also This Woman’s Worth by Maxwell – that would be beautiful, I’d hope to make people cry doing that.

“Maybe I’ll dedicate that one [to my mum]. I haven’t thought about it, but maybe that one.”

Bobby was only five and his brother Freddie Brazier was four when their mum Jade died from cervical cancer on Mother’s Day 2009.

During his discussion with Mail Online, Bobby also touched on the dreaded Strictly curse and his family’s advice of not getting distracted by the women.

He said: “I know everybody who has a relationship there – they’re in love. I don’t have any intention of being a homewrecker at all! I’m looking for a big sister and a lovely relationship.”

On top of his Strictly preparations, Bobby recently picked up the award for Rising Star at the NTA’s, leaving his dad Jeff Brazier in floods of tears.

Bobby, who plays Freddie Slater in BBC One soap EastEnders, walked onto the stage and said: “I’ve been thinking about what I might say over the last couple of days and it’s become very, very obvious.

“This actually has very, very, very little to do with me and everything to do with my Dad. Over the course of the last 20 years, I’ve consistently heard him say, ‘Because I can’.

“It was a mantra, or a motto of his. And him just saying that – because I can! Why not?”

Whilst Bobby and Jeff were on a high about the NTA win, it has been reported and alleged that Bobby’s grandmother, Jackiey Budden, slammed her grandson’s father.

According to The Sun, she alluded to a row with Jeff and allegedly heard talking to fans: “I’m so proud of him [Bobby]. He’s incredible.

“They didn’t know I was there. I didn’t allow them to know I was there. I didn’t want to see their dad. He’s a c**k. But I’m going to wait until they’re older before I let rip.”

Strictly Come Dancing returns on September 16, at 6.35pm on BBC One.
