“So when you do volunteering, it’s the best thing.”
Furniture restorer Jay may have found fame on The Repair Shop but it’s clear he has experience in all fields.
Earlier this year, he even took part in Celebrity Bake Off: Stand Up to Cancer.
He recently made a huge confession as he stated: “I’m not a baker. They sent me ingredients and some equipment in advance, so I could practise.
“I never opened the box. I just went straight into the Bake Off tent like ‘Here we go, let’s do this!'”
“Us east enders have our wits about us, so I totally winged it.”
Jay ended up coming in fourth place, behind Judi Love, Mike Wozniak and Deborah Meaden who won the show.
In an interview with The Guardian, the BBC star addressed whether Paul lived up to his so-called scary persona.
He clarified: “No, he’s a really nice guy. And the cameras don’t do his eyes justice!”
The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One.
