The comedian is swapping the stand-up circuit for the ice rink as she takes on her biggest challenge yet.

What is Lou Sanders famous for?

Lou Sanders is famous for being a stand-up comedian.

She is well known on the comedy circuit, and performs regularly both in the UK and around the world.

In 2018, Lou's show Shame Pig was the joint winner of the Comedians' Choice Award for Best Show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The show recounted some of the "shameful" encounters she'd had, after she had been drinking.

Lou wrote it following her decision to go sober on January 1, 2017.

Speaking to the Evening Standard about Shame Pig, the comedian said: “It’s about owning your shame.

“I think I was damaged. I reached a few rock bottoms but now I feel happy and grounded and immensely grateful.

"If you tell someone your secrets you don’t feel so bad. We are all human. We’ve all done despicable things.

Speaking about how she feels now, after ditching the drink, Lou told the outlet: “The benefits keep on coming.

"My memory was shocking and it is still not good, but it is getting better. I feel like the fog is clearing.

"It’s nice to wake up and not have a sense of horror about what I might have done.”

Meanwhile, the talented star is also a writer and actress.

Lou has acted in sitcoms including Aisling Bea's This Way Up. and Karl Pilkington's Sick of It.

As a writer, she wrote and starred in Elderflower which co-starred Sheila Reid, Tom Rosenthal and Mike Wozniak.

What has Lou Sanders been in?

Lou is known for her work on comedy panel shows, including Mock The Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

In 2019, she was the winner of Taskmaster, and was crowned champion of the eighth series.

She then returned to the show in 2022, to compete in Champion of Champions II, finishing joint third.

On October 3, 2023, it was announced on BBC Radio 5 Live that Lou is taking part in Dancing On Ice 2023.

She revealed it was her "dream thing to do" and said: "I like physical adventure" before adding: "That sounds rude."

Lou added: “I’m nervous about cracking my head open, or just bashing the old head.  I can’t afford to lose any more brain cells. 

"I’m also worried about my partner picking me up, he’s going to have to be very strong and very brave.”
