Romeo Beckham and girlfriend Mia Regan devastated as precious family dog dies

Romeo Beckham was quick to comfort his girlfriend Mia Regan after her beloved family Dachshund, Rufus, sadly died.

The Brentford B footballer, 21, took to Instagram on Friday and marked the loss of their beloved long-haired pooch with a photo, alongside the caption: “Rest in paradise lil man.”

Echoing his comments, model Mia, 20, also took to the platform and shared a heartfelt tribute to Rufus, writing: “Thank you for blessing all of our lives, the most precious pup, love you forever and ever. RIP Rufus xxx.”

The couple often shared photos of Rufus on their Instagram, including one sweet clip of the pup in a Gucci scarf as he rode in a convertible with Mia.

Rufus was Mia’s family dog. The couple also share a Cockapoo called Simba.

The Beckham family are big dog lovers and Victoria and David have looked after Simba alongside their three cocker spaniels, Olive, Fig, and Sage.

Last year, Romeo and Mia welcomed Simba to the family and, in typical Beckham style, the pooch arrived to a life of luxury, with a plush Louis Vuitton Dog toy to help him settle in.

Simba got the seal of approval from mum Victoria, too, who noted: “He looks cute and has good taste,” as the puppy lay next to the designer toy.

Romeo and Mia began dating in 2019 but split in July 2022 after three years together – just months after his brother Brooklyn tied the knot with his now-wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham.

The pair then rekindled their romance months later in November, and have been inseparable since.

Romeo officially ditched his football career in the United States last June, opting instead to join the west London side Brentford B over his father’s club, Inter Miami CF II.

The forward then signed a six-month loan deal at Brentford B in January and has since penned a permanent deal for the Premier League club’s second-string side.

And it seems he’s not just relying on family legacy, having helped his new team win the Premier League Cup in May.

Brentford B, which launched in 2016, does not play in a league – instead, it enters cup competitions and arranges friendlies.
