Phillips to Bring Three Exceptionally Rare Timepieces to Market in Upcoming Auction

Phillips the renowned auction house known for its selection of art, design items, watches and more has recently unveiled a new timepiece auction in association with Bacs & Russo.

The timepieces included stand out as highlights from The Geneva Watch Auction: XVIII, set to take place in early November. Phillips shared that the watches in question have never before been offered at auction, with the three highlights being made up of a previously unknown Rolex Ref. 6062 in stainless steel, a platinum Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 3700 that is one of only three known to exist and the first example of a George Daniels Anniversary in platinum.

Leading the lineup is the Patek Philippe Nautilus ref. 3700 Platinum or 3700P. Estimated to fetch anywhere between one and two million CHF or just over $2 million USD, the 3700P represents one of the rarest sport watches produced by Patek and is one of only three examples to ever come to market and the only known without diamond indexes or bezel — making it all the more rare.

Following closely behind is the Rolex Ref. 6062 in stainless steel, which Phillips says is “The most important Rolex in The Geneva Watch Auction: XVIII” and that it is also estimated to fetch anywhere between one and two million CHF or just over $2 million USD. Beyond its status as one of the rarest and most coveted references of Rolexes out there, the 6062 also features significant complexity, housing a calendar mechanism. Phillips went as far as to say “This exceptional timepiece emerges as one of the finest examples ever to grace the auction market.”

Shinning in the independent category is the first example of a George Daniels Anniversary in platinum, which Phillips remarks is “a truly exceptional find,” with only four having ever been made. This first example is indicated by markings that reflect the number “01” and is estimated to fetch as much as 1,400,000 CHF or approximately $1,554,497 USD. Phillips expressed that the watch offers collectors “a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of horological history.”

The Geneva Watch Auction: XVIII will take place on November 3 and 4, at the Hôtel La Réserve in Genève-Bellevue, Switzerland. For more information and to see the entire lineup of timepieces included in the auction, visit Phillips’ official website.
