Women list 28 places they’d never go on dates – but lads totally disagree

With the rise of online dating, people seem to be making less effort on first dates.

There's a lot of choice out there, which may be why singletons don't want to splash the cash on every match they make. Especially during the cost of living crisis.

But despite some opting for casual coffee catch-ups or affordable restaurants for their romantic rendezvous, others think more effort should be made.

One woman even refused to get out of the car when her date took her to American chain Cheesecake Factory this month, which sparked debate online.

Following the incident, women have taken to Instagram to list the locations they never want to stop at when they're courting – from fast food joints like McDonald's to the cinema. So do you agree with them?

The post, shared by popular page @nugget, garnered more than 59,000 likes and hundreds of comments. And while some agreed with the list, others thought it was far too picky.

One wrote: "First date needs to be low stakes. I’m not spending [hundreds] on dinner just to find out we ain’t vibing lol." And others branded people who compiled the list "gold diggers".

Another said: "Whoever made this list is single and it shows." And a fourth added: "These ladies sound like NO FUN. I would love to eat pancakes and go bowling."
