Corrie Stephen star unrecognisable as fans are left floored with transformation

Coronation Street star Todd Boyce has showed off his surprise new look – and fans are left stunned.

The actor played the businessman-turned-serial killer Stephen Reid on the long-running ITV soap. And as fans will recall, the character’s reign of terror finally came to an end during last month's Super Soap Week.

In shocking scenes, the dastardly cobbles villain turned on his own family and in a bid to try and escape the country following his crimes. However, Stephen met his match.

Viewers watched with their jaws on the floor as Stephen was plowed down by Peter Barlow in his car after trying to escape the cobbles. His corpse was bundled away in a body bag and taken away by an ambulance crew.

Since his exit, actor Todd has been keeping fans updated on what he’s up to now. And it’s fair to say his latest post got plenty of his followers talking after unveiling a major new look.

In an Instagram post, Todd looked worlds away from his Corrie character. Posing for the camera, he showed off some lush long locks and his growing facial hair.

Todd’s new look was for his new project. In the caption, he penned: “Monsters wear many faces'. Alan Wake 2 – long-awaited sequel is out now – The GAME is a psychological horror story filled with intense suspense & unexpected twists.”

Fans were left stunned at Todd’s appearance and rushed to the comments section to share their shock. One person proclaimed: “I love the new look Todd and I didn’t recognise you. Looking handsome.”

Echoing their thoughts, a second said: “Dang that doesn't look like you!!” A third quipped: “No way! That’s different from Stephen!”

Someone else chimed in and wrote: “You look so different.” A fourth penned: “Omg wouldn’t have even recognised you.”

Previously speaking about his permanent exit from Corrie, Todd told the Manchester Evening News: "It's sad on the one hand but it's also gratifying and there is, that overused word, closure. It's an arc of almost 28 years. I started in my thirties and I'm now in my early sixties.

"And I've had three goes and the final go was just a gift from heaven and God. I couldn't have wished for anything more exciting than to be given Stephen and to be given such good writing… There are so many funny things about Stephen.”

He added: “I certainly wasn't going for any humour but it was just total and complete belief in the circumstances that were provided for me by the writers. It's been a joy. Sad on the one hand but gratification to have been given something to work on and to achieve."
