Axed BBC comedy series returning to screens after shock cancellation – and it’s just months away | The Sun

AFTER a recent announcement that a popular BBC comedy series had been axed, the broadcaster has announced that it will be returning to screens for one final fling.

Fans of comedy show Ghosts were devastated when the Beeb confirmed that it would not be renewed after the fifth season.

But show bosses have just revealed that there will be one final Christmas special released after the last series ends.

The team behind Ghosts teased the glad tidings on social media, saying: "The final series of Ghosts starts on Friday… but there might be one last present under the Christmas tree this year."

The series was the BBC's most streamed comedy show last year, and the Sun understands the broadcaster was keen to greenlight another season but producers decided to pull the plug.

Ghosts sees a young couple inherit a rickety mansion in the countryside and make plans to develop it into a hotel.
