BBC Breakfast hosts make huge Strictly Come Dancing blunder live on-air | The Sun

BBC Breakfast hosts made a huge Strictly Come Dancing blunder as they discussed Nigel Harman's shock exit.

The news show, which aired on BBC Two on Sunday, featured a brief summary of the hit BBC reality TV series which broadcast the night before.

Shortly before Strictly's quarter final show, The Sun exclusively revealed how ex EastEnders actor Nigel, 50, had been forced to pull out due to injury.

He was due to perform a Charleston to Step in Time from Disney's Mary Poppins, alongside fan-favourite pro dancer Katya Jones.

At the time, a BBC spokesperson said: “Unfortunately Nigel has sustained a rib injury which means he is unable to perform in tonight’s show and has had to withdraw from Strictly.”

On Sunday, BBC Breakfast hosts Ben Thompson and Sarah Campbell discussed the show shock – which means noone is eliminated tonight.

Ben then said: "Really tough that you've got so far through the competition then you leave through an injury."

He then added: "So what, three couples left," before putting three fingers up on his hand.

Sarah said: "Yes I think so, it's all really getting down to the final the final moments," before Ben interjected: "And they are all really good."

"They are all really good," Sarah added.

Yet eagle-eyed Strictly fans will have been quick to note their blunder.

There are four couples, not three, still left in the show.

These are Bobby Brazier, Layton Williams, Annabel Croft and Ellie Leach.

They have now all been given a free pass to the semi-final.

It has thrown Sunday's results show into chaos – as bosses scramble to fill the half-hour slot.

Claudia told viewers: "On tomorrow night's show we'll be finding out which two dances our remaining couples will tackle in next week's semi final."

Tess added: "Our professional dancers will perform a spectacular group number inspired by My Fair Lady."

Nigel appeared on Saturday night's show and fought back tears about being forced to pull out of the competition.
