Coronation Streets Tim Metcalfe plans revenge during Stephen Reids funeral

Coronation Street: Tim is attacked by Stephen

Coronation Street’s Tim Metcalfe (played by Joe Duttine) has vowed to not let Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) have a funeral as he plans his revenge.

During tonight’s episode, Tim had an altercation with another cab driver whilst picking up Beth Sutherland (Lisa George) from Frescho car park.

He then fell asleep at the wheel and almost crashed into another car on the way home and had a run-in with George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) leaving the cafe.

Speaking to Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) when she returned home, she urged Tim to go and apologise to George for his outburst.

Arriving at their home, he handed George a bag of goodies and apologised, before he added: “I thought I might take you and Steve [McDonald] to the Bistro tomorrow to apologise to him for being a bit of a div?”

Panicking about what to say, George expressed: “I won’t have time tomorrow, I have to be at the parlour.”

Confused, Tim asked: “Well can’t Todd stand in for you?” to which George quickly shut down: “No Todd won’t be there.

“He is visiting a mate in hospital, he broke his leg and fell down some stairs,” leaving Tim to comment: “Ooh nasty.”

Thinking he had managed to get away with his lie, George soon saw Tim out but was interrupted by Todd coming home: “Well thanks for that.

“The order of service for tomorrow’s funeral took ages, and then I had to… sorry I didn’t know you were here.”

Unsure of what he was talking about, Tim said: “I gathered. So what’s this about a funeral, I thought you were visiting a mate in hospital tomorrow.”

Noticing George’s face, Todd played along and noted: “Right yeah I am… He is having a vasectomy.”

The lie soon caught up with George and left Tim fuming: “I don’t believe this, you’re going to do it aren’t you?

“The funeral for that psycho who murdered three people and tried to do the same to me,” interjecting, George tried to reason: “It is my job Tim.

“Whatever his crimes Stephen Reid has the right to a proper service like everyone else.”

Furious Tim stormed out and exclaimed: “Well he is not going to get one as far as I’m concerned I promise you that.”

Will Tim try to stop the funeral? Could this be a way for Tim to get his revenge and closure from the situation?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
