Corries Stephen to get away with murder as star drops major hint about escape

Coronation Street star Todd Boyce dropped a major hint about Stephen Reid escaping punishment.

Stephen's past has started catching up with him as the residents began piecing together his shocking crimes from the past year. Fans will know that Stephen murdered Leo (Joe Frost) and Teddy Thompkins, Rufus Donahue (Steve Meo) and attempted to claim the lives of several others.

During Monday's (October 9) episode, Stephen could have killed once again after he attacked Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine), who had just discovered a body floating in the canal. But while it seems time is running out for Stephen, it's clear the villain is willing to stop anyone that gets in his way as he makes a final bid for freedom.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star at the Inside Soap Awards, Todd, 62, confessed there is every chance Stephen could succeed in escaping the cobbles. The actor said: "He's very very resourceful and very clever.

"It might not be curtains for Stephen." The soap star added: "He's more than capable of escaping prison. He could get himself maybe on a plane."

In the midst of last night's dramatic scenes, viewers picked up on a blunder after Tim was attacked by the killer. Following Tim's discovery of Teddy's body in the canal, he dashed to call 999 but was accosted by Stephen in his car.

As the pair started fighting, Stephen got the upper hand and managed to strangle Tim with a shoelace. Tim managed to make a bid for freedom, however, Stephen whacked him over the head with a metal bar, knocking him unconscious.

But eagle-eyed fans spotted something strange. After being hit round the head, Tim was on the ground with his legs slightly apart at first. However, when the camera panned back to him, his legs were in a totally different position as they were now crossed.

Many people raced to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their confusion over the blunder. "The lack of continuity over Tim’s fall position, lands sprawled, then in the next his ankles are neatly crossed," one person wrote.

Another said: "But he moved! Crossing his legs?" Someone else laughed: "He goes down with one leg straight and the other at an angle, pans to Stephen and then when it goes back to Tim his feet are crossed."
