Dame Judi Dench fights back tears on Countryfile in emotional scenes after revealing challenging health battle | The Sun
COUNTRYFILE fans were left emotional after watching Dame Judi Dench fighting back tears on the show after receiving support with her ongoing health battle.
The A-list actress made a surprise appearance on the environmental show as she headed to the Scottish Highlands in a special episode.
Dame Judi, 88, was nearly moved to tears when Strictly Come Dancing winner Hamza Yassin helped her with a sighting of golden eagles in the wild.
Hamza wrapped a blanket around her head and helped her look through a camera to spot the majestic birds.
The Oscar-winner appreciated his special effort as she is struggling with her eyesight, leaving her unable to read or even see on set.
After spotting the golden eagles she squealed with delight, and Hamza asked if she was okay after the star became overwhelmed by emotion.

She said: "Yes, I'm very overcome.
"It is an enormous privilege. How often does anybody see that? Not very often."
Hamza agreed: "There are few people in the UK who can say they’ve seen a golden eagle in the wild."
Viewers took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their feelings on the touching moment.

Another added: "Maybe overtired but Dame Judi Dench’s delight and emotion on Countryfile at finally seeing a golden eagle really got me."
A third watcher shared: "I don’t think I’ve ever been as emotionally invested in anything in my entire life as I am in Judi Dench spotting a golden eagle in the wild."
Dame Judi previously opened up about her battle with age-related macular degeneration, a disorder that causes gradual visual loss.
She told The Mirror’s Notebook magazine: "I can’t see on a film set any more, and I can’t see to read, so I can’t see much.
"I haven't discovered a solution yet. Because I have a large number of buddies who will teach me the script. However, I have a photographic memory."
