EASTENDERS’ Shona McGarty has gone Instagram official with her new boyfriend after splitting with a co-star.

The Sun revealed Shona, 31, was dating Irish musician David Bracken earlier this month – and she's now called him her "whole world".

Tattooed David is one half of Irish guitar duo Blessed, who regularly perform gigs across their homeland and have more than 18,000 Instagram followers.

Shona has been teasing her mystery new boyfriend on social media for the past couple of weeks without revealing his identity.

But today, she confirmed his identity on her Instagram Story.

Cosying up to her man for a black-and-white selfie, the actress wrote, "Wedding time. My whole world @davidirishband."

EastEnders star Shona McGarty’s mystery boyfriend revealed

Last October, Shona split from Max Bowden – six months after they started dating.

The actor, who plays Ben Mitchell in the BBC1 soap, and stunning Shona decided it wasn't going to work after Max became a dad for the first time with his ex girlfriend.

Shona, who is also a talented singer, recently explained her decision to leave Walford and her character Whitney Dean behind after more than a decade.

"It wasn't an easy decision because I've made so many friends," she said.

"I've seen people come and go, and meanwhile, Whitney has been one of the longest-standing characters.

"I've had so much fun and done so many storylines, some of which have been sensitive, and I've been honoured to be trusted with such heavy stuff, year after year."

She added: "So, I'm going to be sad to say goodbye to my friends and family, but it was right decision for me as I want to do other things.

"After 15 years, I've had a pretty good run."

It appears fans won't have to wait long for Shona's on-screen return as we revealed she's been in talks over a turn on Dancing On Ice.
