EastEnders star Kellie Bright really excited for murder storyline to unfold

EastEnders: Lily Slater gives birth to a baby daughter

The EastEnders’ actresses involved in the Christmas murder plot put on a united front as they stepped onto the red carpet for this year’s National Television Awards (NTAs).

They were all wearing the colours their characters donned in a teaser photograph ahead of the killer storyline they are involved in this festive season.

Speaking to Express.co.uk at the glittering event, which took place at London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday, Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter, teased: “I really like all of these women so I’m really excited to be working with them.”

She was on the red carpet with co-stars Lacey Turner, Letitia Dean, Balvinder Sopal, Diane Parish and Gillian Taylforth.

Balvinder, who plays Suki Kaur Panesar, teased: “I like that it’s all about women because that’s a powerful statement and we don’t often get to see that.”

Earlier this year, a special flashforward clip was shown to EastEnders’ viewers confirming a Christmas death.

Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) fiancee Sharon Watts is one of the women in the clip alongside Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale, Suki, Denise Fox and Linda.

Sharon’s wearing a wedding dress in the clip which suggests she will be marrying someone on this day.

Could Keanu be the groom and could he end up being killed before making it down the aisle?

EastEnders’ viewers are convinced Keanu gets killed in the drama-filled special.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “Maybe Keanu gets violent close to Christmas on his and Sharon’s wedding day and ends up in the pub.”

Another said: “The closer it gets, the more I think Keanu is the body at Xmas.”

A third fan suggested: “If Keanu is the dead body, maybe he will find out about Sharon’s plan after the reception, and then he tries to attack her. Just one theory.”

“I’m thinking it could be Keanu who dies,” a fourth fan remarked.

Could they be correct, or is it someone else who gets murdered on Christmas in Walford?

There are only a few more months to wait before the episode airs – could more than one person die?

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays on BBC One from 7.30pm.
