EastEnders star throws support behind Strictly’s Bobby Brazier after BBC brawl

EastEnders star William Ellis has thrown his support behind Bobby Brazier as the actor continues to flourish on Strictly Come Dancing.

William joined the soap as Theo Hawthorne earlier this year and is quickly carving himself out to be one of the soap's most dangerous villains. In recent scenes, the teacher attempted to sexually assault Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) in a twisted scheme to convince her that they belong together.

Theo was interrupted by Freddie, who hit him round the head with an iron before repeatedly punching him, leaving him unconscious. Fortunately, William couldn't be further from his character in real life and was full of praise when it came to discussing his co-star's appearance in the BBC dance competition.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star at the Inside Soap Awards, the actor confessed: "Doesn't Bobby look amazing? I think he's going to go far.

"I really hope so because he's such a beautiful human being and he deserves everything that's coming to him because he's such an awesome guy. I really do wish him well and I'll be watching and voting for him."

Bobby, 20, has clearly made a lasting impression on his BBC co-stars since first joining the soap in 2022. Ben Mitchell star Max Bowden also couldn't help but gush over the rising star as he declared he's "killing it" on Strictly.

Max, 28, told Daily Star: "He's killing it. He's got to be my one to win, absolutely. I'm very proud of him, he's such a special boy.

"He's an amazing young man and he lights all of our lives up at EastEnders and I don't say that lightly. He is so special with an amazing soul and to see him go out and win every week is so precious."

Jamie Borthwick, who has portrayed Jay Brown since 2006, added: "He's just made for it, isn't he?" Freddie recently left Albert Square to spend time with his mum, Little Mo, while Theo recovers in hospital.

Teasing what's coming up for the villain, William added: "Theo's story is ongoing. There's more to come which is very exciting. I'm excited for the rest of the year."
