Emmerdale family torn apart as newcomer announces Jai Sharma bombshell
Emmerdale: Jai clashes with Rishi over the identity of his dad
Emmerdale’s Sharma family could end up getting torn apart in upcoming scenes after Jai’s (played by Chris Bisson) real father arrives in the village.
In upcoming scenes, Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) gets the shock of his life when he realises Jai isn’t his cousin, but his brother.
After leaving his dad a voicemail, things take an unexpected turn when Suni and Jai’s father, Amit (Anil Goutam) arrives in the village.
However, speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk and other press, Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw and actors Brahmdeo and Anil teased what’s in store for the Sharma family.
“Obviously, we found out not so long ago that Rishi was actually not Jai’s biological father, and actually Jai’s father is Amit, Rishi’s brother and Suni’s father,” Laura began.

“And what you’ll see with Amit is that he’s quite a dark and complex character, and although we’ll see Suni wants him to stick around, could Suni end up regretting it?
“Is Amit hiding another secret that threatens to blow up the whole family apart? We will see.”
The soap boss went on to discuss Super Soap Week, which will hit screens this week, and how some “big secrets will be revealed”.
The actor who plays Amit teased that viewers will only “see one side” to his character, admitting: “You have only seen one aspect of him and he has a darker side to him but not in his own mind.

“In his own mind, he does what he does to protect the family. It is what he thinks is the right thing to do to protect his family.”
When asked about other connections in the village, the soap star teased: “I think you’ll definitely see connections with other characters.
“Again, I am not sure how much I can say, so I guess you will see.”
Tensions could also rise between Jai and Suni because Jai is the son Amit has always wanted.
Discussing how it affects his character, Brahmdeo shared: “I think from Suni’s point of view and the fact he would do anything for his dad.”
“I think you’ll see in future episodes when it comes to his relationship…,” the Suni star teased.
Will Amit be able to accept Suni’s relationship with Nicky (Lewis Cope) or will he cause drama for the couple?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
