Emmerdale Lydia stars love life – hubby saving her career to Dingle wedding
Actress Karen Blick, rose to fame playing the much-loved character Lydia Dingle in ITV's hit long-running drama, Emmerdale.
The 49-year-old first joined the cast of Emmerdale in 2006 playing a nurse but later became a permanent member in 2016 when she took on the role of Lydia. As the wife of Sam Dingle (James Hooton) and stepmother to Samson Dingle (Sam Hall), Lydia has had brief romances with Paddy Kirk and Rishi Sharma, but she eventually settled down and became a member of the Dingle family.
Most recently, Karen's character has been involved in a traumatising storyline as she tries to get overcome her harrowing rape ordeal. Finding it difficult to confide in anyone, Lydia has been beside herself but according to Emmerdale spoilers, she will soon find some sort of relief.

Away from the show, the soap star's life is a little less chaotic. Karen is in a loved-up relationship with her husband Simon with whom she shares two children with.
Daily Star has taken a closer look at their romance.
Who is Karen's husband?
Karen first met her husband back in 1996. The pair hit it off straight away and became good friends.
According to recent reports, Simon manages his own business. His business involves delivering behavioural health and safety training to companies and he has managed to gain success from it.
Karen revealed that Simon encouraged her to continue pursuing her acting career as she considered packing it up before taking the role of Lydia on Emmerdale.
She said: "We've had conversations over the years where I've said, 'OK, maybe I'll give this up. And he's always said, 'Give it another year, stick at it.'
"When we got to go to the soap awards together we clinked some champagne glasses and said, 'Can you believe this?'"
Karen and Simon have two children together, daughter Ruby and son Oliver. In July 2020, her son broke his leg after falling off a scooter, before he was all patched up at the hospital afterwards.
'Dingle' style wedding
Karen and Simon tied the knot in 2011. But because they were already a couple for a number of years prior, they decided to keep their big day rather low-key.
The pair decided to invite only 100 of their closest friends and family to celebrate their day. They also managed to keep it reasonably low in cost.
Providing their attendees with a three-course meal and a fun reception, the actress explained: "We had a Dingle element to ours. We had been together for years and so we didn't want to spend much."
Husband's perception of Lydia
When speaking about her character in depth, Karen has previously shared what her husband Simon thinks of her character Lydia. He has also expressed whether the two share similar traits.
When asked if she is like her character, the actress said told TV Times: "I would like to say ‘No’. But my husband might disagree.
"Lydia is warm-hearted, kind and her heart is in the right place, so I like to think we are similar in that respect. I hope I am a bit more socially aware than she is, though.
"Lydia tends to say exactly what is on her mind. Whereas I think about it before I open my mouth."
