Emmerdale villager rocked as long lost relative arrives for brief stint

Emmerdale: Dawn tells Gabby she wants ‘nothing’ to do with her

One Emmerdale resident is about to get the shock of their life when a long lost relative turns up looking for them.

Former EastEnders actress Martha Cope is reportedly joining the ITV soap for a brief stint.

Not much is known about the newcomer but it could be she is related to Caleb Milligan (played by Will Ash) and his son Nicky (Lewis Cope).

Caleb is yet to reunite with his mysterious ex-wife and while Nicky has mentioned his mother, she’s not been seen on screen.

Could the two men be in for a big surprise when she turns up in the coming months?

Soaps fans will recognise actress Martha from her role in EastEnders as Sandy Gibson.

Sandy was Dotty Cotton’s mother and last appeared in 2021 when she caused havoc on the Square.

Her exit was incredibly hard-hitting as Sandy ended up overdosing leaving Dotty heartbroken.

Martha also appeared in Emmerdale between 2013 and 2014 as DC Morden, a detective who investigated a fire at Home Farm.

Elsewhere, on the ITV soap, there’s relief all round as Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) is officially diagnosed with PMDD.

Bob’s (Tony Audenshaw) sympathetic to Cathy’s condition but she’s left feeling disappointed and desperate when her treatment is to manage her symptoms instead of an outright cure.

Back at the B&B, an upset and volatile Cathy blindsides Bob by defiantly insisting she wants to find a cure to stop her PMDD symptoms.

Despite the best efforts of Bob, Wendy and Bernice, Cathy is unrelenting in her desire to cure her PMDD.

Later, in a heated moment, Cathy throws a garden ornament through a B&B window, just missing Manpreet.

When Wendy tries to intervene, Cathy takes her anger out on her, and shoves her to the ground.

Bob runs to help but feels a twinge in his chest as Manpreet checks him over.

Cathy’s concerned to see her Dad struggle but Wendy tells her to leave him and Cathy runs off, bleeding from a cut on her hand.

Liam catches up with her and she lets him look at it however, she soon jumps to conclusions.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7.30pm.
