Love Islands Ekin-Su insists Davide and I are happier than ever as she looks to the future

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is on a whirlwind adventure and openly admits “life feels like a dream” when we catch up with the star.

And it’s no wonder considering everything she’s ticked off her list since the 29 year old left the Love Island villa with boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti.

Speaking of Davide, the British-Turkish star confirms she and the 27 year old who found love in 2022 on the hit ITV dating show are ‘better than ever.’

“We’re very good thank you,” she exclusively spills as we ask her when she visits the BPerfect Cosmetics store in the Enoch Shopping Centre, Glasgow.

“Our relationship is actually better recently because we keep it private. We enjoy each other’s company.”

The pair, despite winning the show, sadly decided to call it quits back in June after 11 months together.

Fans were left devastated by the news when Davide confirmed it on Instagram. He wrote: "Ekin-Su and I are no longer together. I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared together and I wish her nothing but the best.”

But things were soon back on when Davide teased some snaps from a holiday to Turkey to celebrate Ekin-Su’s 29th birthday together.

Just like any relationship though, it doesn’t come without its hurdles, Ekin-Su admits to OK! , but it’s something the pair will face together.

“No relationship is perfect but as adults we’re learning to communicate those problems.”

And speaking on challenges, her stint on Dancing on Ice earlier this year was definitely one of them.

Ekin-Su was partnered up with Brendyn Hatfield and was the third celeb to leave the competition, but that didn’t stop her from enjoying every moment of her experience.

“There’s lots of advice I could give new contestants,” she said. “Two things in particular. One, watch out for any negative comments and just try to ignore them. You need some thick skin.

“And two, don’t miss any hours of training because you need as much as possible. If you miss even an hour, you can feel it when you’re on the show. It’s really hard work but all worth it.”

And as for who she’d like to see lift the iconic trophy? As long as it’s a woman, the star will be happy.

“It’s been almost 10 years since a woman has won the competition – it’s time for them to claim it. I’d love a woman to win it next year.”

However, while Ekin-Su does enjoy the odd reality TV stint, fans shouldn’t expect her on just any old screen any time soon. In fact, she could be going back to her original acting roots.

“I’ve just finished filming season two of The Traitors US, and that was a lot of fun. But the I’m a Celeb jungle, however, is something I’d love to do.

“I’m also being more picky when it comes to TV shows. Basically anything that challenges me or gives me a chance to show my personality.

Ekin-Su, before capturing the nation’s heart with her bombshell entrance and witty one-liners in the villa, starred in a Turkish soap opera.

“I’d also love to get back into acting, it’s in my soul. I just haven’t had the chance because of how busy I’ve been. I’d like to aim for the USA though – it’s important to aim high in life,” she laughs.

But when it comes to how her life has dramatically changed since leaving the Love Island villa, the place where her iconic collaboration with BePerfect cosmetics – the beauty brand taking TikTok by storm – first began, it’s something that Ekin-Su could never have imagined.

“To this day, I still believe that I was going to get booted off on the second week. I can’t believe I made it all the way to the end.

“But it’s been a dream ever since. Overwhelming at times too, of course, but I’m very grateful for the platform I have now.”

For now, the TV personality is fully embracing this chapter in life and credits her success to one thing – karma.

“I just feel like karma works,” she admits. “If you’re a good person in life, good thing happen to you. And if you’re a bad person, nothing will go your way.

“If I've learned anything this past year it’s just to be myself and be authentic. Things don’t last forever, so I’m very grateful and I want to savour every moment.”
