Strictly Come Dancing judges in brutal clash as Motsi Mabuse hits back at Craig

Adam Thomas admits Strictly Come Dancing is helping his arthritis

Strictly Come Dancing judges Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood suffered an awkward clash during Saturday’s show.

It came as Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe performed their theatrical Paso Doble.

The audience response was strong, but Craig, who was the first judge to give feedback, picked up on a lot of negatives.

“For me, it lacked the fire that you were talking about in the VT.

“It sort of lost intent and performance because of that…” he trailed off.

He continued: “I thought it was clean, you were showing command, you were showing control.

“But for me it was the performance, I think, that suffered in that.

“I just wanted you to be more into it, it’s so close, so close!”

“Well, Motsi, we know you don’t agree,” host Tess Daly pointed out as the judge appeared baffled.

“Yeah, for me it’s close enough, baby!” She stated.

Motsi continued: “Listen, I had to point out one specific thing I really want to speak about…

“I think as a student it’s so difficult to understand and learn, it’s using the free leg.

“So usually somebody puts their weight on the standing leg and the free is dangling along but with you, you were dragging, swiping in, following him every time like a panther ready to jump on him and that’s what you want.”

Turning to her co-star, she argued: “Sometimes Craig, less is more darling…”

Her comment was met with applause from the audience but Craig wasn’t silenced.

Hitting back, he responded: “Well, you should tell yourself that!”

But the duo cheekily laughed off their cheeky digs aimed at the other.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Sunday at 7.20pm on BBC One.
