The Chases Bradley Walsh brutally mocks player as he shows off lucky shoes

A contestant on The Chase got far more than he bargained for when presenter Bradley Walsh mocked his "lucky" shoes.

Before making the trip to ITV studios to take part in the show, Jamie, worked tirelessly to select the perfect outfit, opting for a blue fluorescent shirt and his favourite footwear.

Walking out of the door with a huge smile on his face, he couldn't wait to show off his fashionable clobber to a passionate audience. However, he didn't anticipate the wit of the host he'd soon have to interact with.

Instantly noticing his contestant's wonderful attire, the former Doctor Who star couldn't resist making a comment. He beamed: “I like your shirt and your shoes; they’re snazzy, mate.”

Positively buzzing that Bradley had taken an interest in his clothing, the keen quizzer, released a huge grin, before asserting: "They're my lucky shoes."

Utterly captivated by the endless reasons why that could possibly be the case, the presenter replied with a rye smile: "Are they?" Keen to reveal the origin story, Jamie confessed: "I got married in them."

Moved by the tale, Bradley decided to dig a little deeper, asking: "How long have you been married for?" However, he couldn't quite believe the answer, or more aptly, lack of answer, he received back.

Clearly struggling to remember when exactly the day was when he tied the knot, Jamie managed to muster the word: "Crikey," much to the amusement of the audience. Showcasing his unrivalled wit, Bradley, laughed: "Not so lucky now, are they?"

Luckily, the married man quickly recovered from the jibe, informing the world that he's a solicitor, before taking on the Cash Builder. Despite a lack of knowledge of reality TV, he made up for it with his expertise in Northern Irish cities and cosplay to accumulate an impressive £4000.

But his road home wasn't over yet, as he had to go head-to-head with 'The Sinnerman' Paul Sinha. However, in a testament to his composure, he showed poise and quizzing prowess to make it back to his team for the Final Chase.

The Chase airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 5pm
