The Crown finally announces when season six will hit Netflix – and there's a twist | The Sun
THE Crown has finally confirmed the release date for its final ever series as the show reaches a dramatic ending – but bosses have a huge twist in store.
In order to maximise the drama, the sixth series will be split into two halves released a month apart.
Covering the span of 1997 through to 2005, the Netflix show will bring viewers into the current century with all the goings-on of The Royal Family.
The first edition will debut on the streaming service on November 16 followed by the final ever six episodes on December 14.
In part one of the show, Elizabeth Debicki reprises her role as Princess Diana as the show focuses on her final year across four episodes.
Co-staring with Dominic West as Prince Charles, fans will see her romance with Dodi Fayed play out on screen.

It will also feature Diana's fateful car journey and the devastating aftermath.
Rufus Kampa and Fflyn Edwards will also make their first appearances on the show as they take on the role of Diana's sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
The second chapter, set to debut on the streaming giant in December, will air across six episodes and bring fans into the mid-noughties.
A synospsis for the final chapter reads: "Prince William tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother’s death as the monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion.

It will see Meg Bellamy take on the role of Kate Middleton as well as Ed McVey and Luther Ford joining her to play a more grown-up version of the royal brothers.
It will mark the debut roles for all three budding TV stars.
The Crown has become one of the most successful programmes since it launched on Netflix in 2016 collecting a handful of awards.
Over the course of its run, it has featured acclaimed actors Claire Foy, Josh O'Connor and Emma Corrin.
