TOWIE’s Amy Childs teases ‘agg’ in new series but says real life is wilder

Telly hit TOWIE is still one of the most watched reality shows due to its weekly drama, fallouts and ‘agg’.

But mum-of-four Amy Childs reckons filming the latest series is like a relaxing holiday after giving birth to twin babies. Essex fave Amy, 33, said: “There’s been a lot of agg this series but it’s been like a little holiday for me.

“My life is so hectic at the moment. Being a mum-of-four and having two newborn twins is really tough. Everyone else seems to be having huge arguments and big fallouts whereas it’s just really nice for me to get glammed up, have a glass of prosecco and a bit of gossip.”

Amy and her fiance Billy Delbosq, 40, welcomed little Milly and Billy in April this year. The couple documented their dramatic births on their own spin-off reality show Twin Life.

The busy TOWIE OG also has two other children Polly, six, and Ritchie, five to previous partners. And former Vajazzle Queen Amy admitted she barely has time to shower when the cameras aren’t rolling.

“Some days it gets to night time and I think I haven’t even showered or brushed my teeth today,” she laughed. “It sounds disgusting because I’m all about the glam but to be honest I’m usually in my dressing gown now covered in baby sick.

“Being a mum to twins is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Not only are you physically exhausted, you are mentally exhausted and you worry about the kids all the time. I obviously love it and wouldn’t change it for the world but I would be lying if I didn’t say it was tough. That’s why I love filming TOWIE. It’s like my little escape, my guilty pleasure.”

Despite their hectic life-style Amy hasn’t ruled out another baby with hubby-to-be Billy. She said: “I don’t think I will have any more but never say never. Bill said he didn’t want any more but he said he would if I wanted to.

“He said he thinks I have one more in me. Maybe when the twins are at school I might change my mind.” Praising first time dad Billy, she went on: “He is an amazing dad and an amazing step-dad.

“I don’t want to give him a massive head but he is incredible. I thought he would be amazing but I didn’t think he would be this amazing. He idolises both our kids and my kids.”

Amy became an instant fan favourite when TOWIE launched back in 2010. She left just two-years later to star in Celebrity Big Brother but returned to the show in 2020. One of reality TV’s all time most successful stars added: “I will definitely be back next series.

“I’m now the old girl of TOWIE but I still love it. I feel like I bring a bit of fresh air and calm to the show which can have a lot of drama. I am very upfront and honest but I don’t like to argue. I’m everyone’s agony aunt.”

TOWIE continues on Sunday October 1 at 9pm on ITVBe and is also available on ITVX.
