Timex and seconde/ seconde/ Unveil Episode 3 and 4 Watches

Timex and French creative brand seconde/ seconde/ have unveiled the latest watches in its series “IYKYK” which explores playful takes on iconic timepiece nicknames.

While the brands themselves haven’t and don’t plan to specifically name the inspirations, part of the if you know you know approach, it’s quite apparent that Episodes 1 and 2 were nods to the Batman and Pepsi nicknames.

As for its latest release of Episodes 3 and 4, seconde/ seconde/ visits the watchmaker’s ’70s Q Timex and M79 Automatic watch. The ’70s Q features a green dial, bezel and clinched cartoon fist — in an apparent hat tip to the “Hulk” nickname.

On the other hand, the M79 Automatic might be a little bit more of a challenge for the unversed, it features a black and red dial, with a hamburger fixed to the seconds hand. To make it a little easier to guess, Timex and seconde/ seconde/ provided hints, the first of which is that the nickname pairs well with the hamburger and the second being that the first and last letters are C and E respectively.

From there, it’s pretty easy to see that Episode 4 is a nod to the “Coke” nickname, however, for those that might not get it, the brands wrote “If you don’t, you’ll still do great in life. Most likely.”

Each of the watches includes a stainless-steel case and bracelet, as well as a rotating bezel. Like the first two episodes, each of these watches are limited to an edition of 500 examples. Both are available now via Timex’s official site, with the M79 Automatic priced at $322 USD and the ’70s Q at $215 USD.

Elsewhere in watches, Polo Ralph Lauren launches two new Polo bear watches.
