BBC fans emotional as Prunella tells husband ‘thanks for sticking with me’
Prunella Scales and husband wrote to each other ‘three times a day’
English actress Prunella Scales made BBC fans emotional this morning as she appeared on the show with her husband Timothy West and thanked him for “sticking with me.”
The Fawlty Towers icon, who has been married to her husband for 60 years, has been living with a dementia diagnosis since 2013.
Speaking about their Diamond wedding anniversary on BBC Breakfast, the couple said that they communicated regularly through letter-writing.
Prunella gushed: “He [Tim] wrote lovely letters. Marvellelous letters.”
Timothy added: “We both loved writing to each other. Sometimes two or three times a day.”

When asked if their relationship over the years, they both instantly replied: “No not at all.”
Prunella said: “I’ve got to know him better and better and better.”
Tim then said: “I know things are going to change a little bit. It’s been a long time. We’ve managed pretty well really.”
Many BBC viewers were left emotional at the heart-warming interview and couldn’t help but comment on social media.
