Coronation Street’s Jenny Connor (played by Sally-Ann Matthews) could be set to flee Weatherfield with Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) as his worlds begin to collide.

The Rovers Return has been shut down this week and is being renovated to make way for a new wave of customers.

With Jenny no longer having a job, and Stephen desperate not to be caught for the murders of Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) and Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin), he has been trying to convince her to move to Thailand.

In upcoming scenes, Jenny calls in the Kabin and tells Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) she’s made her mind up and she’s moving to Thailand.

In the café, Jenny tells Stephen that she’d love to move to Thailand, and he is thrilled.

However, his long-term plans are ruined when she turns to Stephen and explains that whilst she can see the appeal of moving to Thailand on a permanent basis, it’s a pipedream and a holiday will do.

Determined to get her to change her mind, Stephen shows Jenny a picture of a bar in Thailand and explains that a friend owns it and he’s looking for a new manager.

Jenny soon realises how serious he is about relocating, but when Stephen leans on her to start a new life in Thailand, she doesn’t sway.

Will Stephen be able to change Jenny’s mind in time? Or will he be fleeing to Thailand once again leaving Jenny heartbroken?

During Wednesday night’s episode, the Rovers Return was finally shut down and left Jenny in tears and homeless, as well as her staff.

After saying her final goodbye to her beloved pub, Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) admitted to the others that she had put her name forward for the deputy manager role.

Feeling guilty for Jenny, Gemma admitted what she had done but soon encouraged Jenny to take the plunge and apply for the role too.

However, when sitting down for her interview, she was berated by the manager for drinking the pub dry the night before and was told she and her staff would never be employed at the pub again.

Heartbroken, Jenny made her way to Rita’s with Stephen as they crashed in her spare room for a while, with him popping the Thailand idea once again.

Pondering the idea, she told Stephen: “I can definitely see the attraction, just let me think about it.”

Stephen once again reminded her of the “ghosts” of Leo and Teddy and how she needed to “get away” from it all.

Can Jenny leave her life in Weatherfield behind and start fresh in a whole other country?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
