ITV I’m A Celebs Josie Gibson takes cheeky swipe at Nigel Farage over Brexit

I’m A Celeb: Josie Gibson arrives in Australia

This Morning’s Josie Gibson took a cheeky swipe at Nigel Farage over Brexit during the first episode of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

The ITV series fronted by Ant and Dec officially kicked off on Sunday night as 10 stars headed to the Australian jungle.

However, it wasn’t long before the celebrities realised what they’d signed up for as they were all thrown into a series of challenges in different teams.

Former politician Nigel Farage, ITV’s Josie Gibson, and social media star Nella Rose were grouped together and were dropped into the scorching outback.

As Josie and Nigel were the first two to arrive, the conversation took an awkward turn.

Josie confessed: “I thought this was a good idea until they dropped us off in the middle of nowhere. I’ve never been so petrified.”

Nigel replied: “It’s something different in life, it’s an adventure! It’s a challenge, it’s not going to be easy, but why not?”

Josie quipped: “It can’t be worse than Brexit!”

Laughing, Nigel added: “Oh… didn’t take long did it? Didn’t take long. I had a feeling we’d get a bit of that!”

Josie admitted she was only joking as the pair seemed to laugh off her jibe.

They were then joined by 26-year-old Nella as the trio were informed their fellow campmates were 2,000 miles away on the Gold Coast.

Josie, Nigel and Nella were quick to learn the other stars were going to try and win stars for their first meal in camp, although how much time they would get would depend on them.

Ahead of entering the show, Josie revealed she’s willing to give everything a go, despite being scared of a few things.

She said: “I am most looking forward to being at one with nature and I hope I learn new things about myself.

“I hope I can push myself more than I think I can. Eating trials? I have got to try and close my eyes and not think about what it is I am eating. Heights? I don’t like heights either.

“To be fair, I am not liking a lot of things that the jungle throws at you but I want to give it all a go.”
